About ADCUSA

Our history, mission, values, and the people driving change across the African diaspora.

Born from Vision.
Built on Unity.

The African Diaspora Coalition of USA (ADCUSA) was founded in 2015 in Durham, North Carolina — a city rich in African-American heritage and diversity. The organization emerged from a clear-eyed recognition: the African diaspora in the United States possessed enormous untapped potential — professional expertise, entrepreneurial spirit, cultural wealth — that, if channeled strategically, could transform lives both in America and across Africa.

Co-Founder and Executive Director Dr. Philip Mwalali MD and his founding team created ADCUSA to bridge that gap — to create platforms, forums, and cultural spaces where diaspora professionals could connect, invest, and build lasting change.

Recognized as a 501(c)(3) public charity (EIN: 46-4204919) under the NTEE code for Cultural & Ethnic Awareness, ADCUSA operates as a fully volunteer-driven organization — every dollar contributed goes directly into programs that serve the community.
